Over the last two years the popularity of poker has dropped among the young, according to the research of a social trends organization. With its origins in the UIGEA in the United States, online poker has taken a number of hits in recent years, including a drop in TV ratings, tournament sponsorship and fewer overall online poker rooms to play at.
